It is a pleasure for us to be able to welcome visitors to our beautiful vineyard and cellar located roughly halfway between Castlemaine and Daylesford in Central Victoria, Australia.
Our philosophy is that wine should be a full expression of its intrinsic grape quality, influenced by its regional origin, local soils, slope, aspect, hydrology and microclimate.
Guildford vineyard is in the Macedon Ranges Wine region. The region is classed as a cool climate region. Our location in the northern section of the region experiences cold frosty winters and long hot dry summers with minimal rainfall.
These climatic conditions produce wines of intense fruit flavour and quality but require specific viticultural canopy management techniques to control growth and prevent disease, maximising the effect of the long ripening season and enhancing quality. The slopes and terraces of our vineyard allow for maximum effect of the afternoon sunlight.
We produce four varietal wines, shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay and viognier. Each vintage is representative of the best fruit produced in that particular year from our weathered dry rocky vineyard.
Our 7 acre estate vineyard is the primary source for our wines. Meticulous winemaking from Ron Snep, our winemaker, allows for low sulphur wines that are based on the Rhone Valley distinctive traditional wine style.
